Human Remains follows the story of a monstrous black dog and his girl, as they roam the streets of a city thirty years after their apparent deaths. They are joined by a young police officer, investigating a series of unsolved murders, who learns far more from the dead than she ever could from the living. Ghosts are everywhere: trapped in a kind of purgatory, tethered to people or locations, longing for freedom or scarred by a need for revenge. This is a story of memory, love, death and retribution, grief, belonging, and a dog's murderous devotion to the girl who gave him her life.

If you grew up reading 'The Ghost Of Thomas Kemp' and 'Folklore, Myths And Legends Of Britain' (notably the page on Black Shuck the demon dog that haunted quiet lonely lanes in Norfolk), and loved the illustrations of Victor Ambrose... if you read and watched Watership Down (we'd fast forward the last five minutes on the VHS) and if you cried at the story of Prince Llewellyn's faithful hound (I thought about that story way more than was healthy when I was a kid)... if you liked the Korean version of The Eye and True Crime podcasts on Youtube ... then hopefully you might like this graphic novel.
